Masonic Charity: Giving Back to Our Community
Freemasonry has a long tradition of charitable giving. Learn how Welsford Lodge No.26 and the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia support our local community and beyond.
Charity is one of the foundational pillars of Freemasonry. Since its earliest days, the Craft has been dedicated to the relief of distress — supporting widows and orphans, funding hospitals and schools, and responding to community needs.
In Nova Scotia, the Grand Lodge operates several charitable programs, including bursaries for students, support for the Shriners Hospitals for Children, and contributions to local food banks and community organizations.
Welsford Lodge No.26 participates actively in these charitable efforts, both through contributions to Grand Lodge programs and through direct support of local causes in Windsor and Hants County. Our brethren volunteer their time, skills, and resources to make our community a better place.
Masonic charity is not about recognition — it is about the quiet satisfaction of knowing you have made a difference in someone's life. It is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a Freemason.
