Welsford Lodge No.26 was constituted on November 14, 1861, under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia. Named in honour of Major Augustus Frederick Welsford, a Nova Scotian hero who fell at the Battle of Sevastopol during the Crimean War, the Lodge has been a beacon of brotherhood and service in the Hants County region for over 160 years.

From its earliest days, the Lodge has been committed to the Masonic principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Through wars, economic hardships, and social change, the brethren of Welsford Lodge have remained steadfast in their dedication to making good men better and serving their community.
